Poke Hunt in Jakarta

Another latest food trend besides Es Kopi Susu and Cheese Tea is Poke Bowl! You probably still have no clue about this, even though you have seen a lot on Instagram. Poke (POH-keh) Bowl is a popular cuisine from Hawaii, made by raw fish with vegetables, poke seasonings, dressings and served on top of rice. It’s fresh and delicious!

You know the fact now so let’s hunt the best poke bowl in town!


They claim themselves as the first Poké and Matcha Bar in Indonesia. Honu serves classic Hawaiian Poké bowl and traditional Japanese tea. Their first outlet is at Kemang and recently they’ve just opened new outlet at Menteng, wohooo~ Our favourites are Hono-Lulu and Ginger Lemon Matcha.

2. Limu Poke

Situated inside Pacific Place, Limu Poke offers tasty poke bowls that worth a try. You’re able to build your own bowl too by choosing your own carbs, fish, sauce and toppings. If you’re confused, you can just ask their recommended bowls. Must try: Rainbow Bowl and Spicy Salmon Luau!

3. Pokey Studio

Other than coffee shop and smoothie bowl, you can also find poke bowl inside the lifestyle joint Crumble Crew. Pokey Studio brings the freshest pokey fusions from the coast of California. They also serve vegan menu and use grilled organic tofu as the protein. Very cool!

4. Pokinometry

Pokinometry serves the original poke bowl with a twist. Recently, they just launched new menu called Hawaiian Poke Bowl which is served in pineapple. Other than poke bowl, they also serve hand roll sushi and ‘not so poke’ menu like Salted Egg Dory Rice and Grilled Salmon Mentai.

5. Poke Me

Poke Me is the newly opened eatery, located at Lotte Shopping Avenue. For the poke bowl, they use brown rice instead of white rice, which is a healthier option for diet. The Pi-Pi Bowl is very unique, using beef as the protein and kimchi. If you prefer fish, you can try the Hula-Hula Tuna or Salmon.
