Well, you’d probably known about the famous cronuts that was introduced for the first time in Jakarta by The Mandarin Cake Shop. Since then, The Mandarin Cake Shop has been one of the finest dessert destinations for every sweet tooth in town.
On Friday, 27th May 2016, they introduced their new Spring/Summer cake collection. This newest edition was presented by the new Executive Pastry Chef Remi Martinazzo. A little background about Chef Remi, he has worked in culinary business for more than 18 years. He pursued his career and joining several 5-star establishments, including ‘Sketch’ – a 2 star Michelin restaurant in London.
This Spring/Summer cake collection is inspired by Indonesian traditional desserts and local ingredients. Chef Remi founded so many inspirations for his latest creation while exploring Indonesia. One of our local ingredients that he’s very interested in is Daun Pandan. He also added it to his experiments and turns out, it’s very suitable for his cakes. It’s a privilege for us to meet him in person and listen to all his story.
So, here is the list of the newest Spring/Summer cake collection from The Mandarin Cake Shop:
Exotic Coconut Cake
Layered Raspberry and Lemon Cake
Salted Caramel Peanut and Chocolate Fudge
Red Velvet Dome
There’s also a new range of sweet treats such as pralines, truffles, and macaroons.
Chef Remi also gave us a chance to taste his deconstructed desserts. The taste just exactly the same like his spring/summer cake collection. Unique and delicious! It’s an interesting way to savour all the sweet treats.
