The New Boy in Senopati

Senopati has long been silent. Though some names have made some buzz, most of them failed to make people flock down and fight the massive traffic – till William’s come along. Situated at the mouth of Senopati (in front of Crumble Crew – or the old building of Midtown Bistro / [email protected]28), William’s placed itself as an iconic spot – serving some of the finest creations we have tasted this year.Taking a leap from it’s previous tenant, the big guns in William’s completely transformed the interior – turning it into a modern retro feel (which is definitely the first of its kind in downtown Jakarta). To name one of it’s iron hands behind the kitchen is Alpin Reyner – former Chef at Nomz Jakarta. So without a further adieu, here are the finest things you can have at William’s.

Arancini (IDR 90k)
We started the lunch Arancini – an Italian fried rice balls, served with Arabiata sauce, melted parmesan and watercress salad. It’s quite a big portion for a small bites – so, this could be your perfect sharing platter. Fried rice balls aren’t exactly our favourite – but the melted parmesan within is served in a generous portion which is a plus point.Ratatouille (IDR 55k)
If you’re a fan of the animated movie Ratatouille, the last meal that saved the whole restaurant is a tricky meal to be made (if of course, you’re following the exact same presentation). But the people of William’s has finally bring this food into life. We definitely can’t say much for the taste – as we ourselves haven’t try Ratatouille at all. But, we’ll try this meal for the second time on our next visit.Ossobucco Barley (IDR 160k)
This dish is one of the main star of William’s. Ossobucco is a veal shank – which is not a very common dish to be found in Jakarta. This is our number one’s favourite meal in Williams! The meat is cooked just right – and the splash of overflowing Barley served up as a fine pair to the big meal. Definitely a must have.Smoked Chicken Roulade (IDR 135k)
Of all the broccoli puree, William has the best one! No kidding folks. The broccoli puree is the glue that holds this dish together – which is smoked chicken, thyme cream, king oyster mushroom, and did we mention fired gnocchi?! If you’re not a veal eater, this one is the perfect treat for you.Nasi Goreng Gila Wagyu (IDR 100k)
We kid you not – we are super selective when it comes to Nasi Goreng. Sometimes it’s too soggy, oily, no meat, and not at all tasty. Hats of to the Chef and its team for bringing a Nasi Goreng Gila that is worth ordering. The Wagyu cuts are absolutely perfect. This meal can also be served for sharing for 2 – if you want to order something else to try. But, of all 3 mains, this one, you can’t miss.Pimped Up My Chocolate (IDR 70k)
For the dessert, be sure to close your palate by having this chilled frosted chocolate mousse, which is served five spices, seasonal fruits and salted caramel. But if you fancy a cake, be are to ask for their Cake of The Day.Our Verdict? (9/10!)
With all the restaurant serving generich dishes – William’s has managed to break the barriers and bring a new standard to the food scene in Jakarta. Not to mention, with it’s reasonable eating our price, William’s is bound to give you the perfect amount of fulfilment with it’s generous portion & excellent service. Coming back? Yes, definitely.
