1. Goethe-Institut Indonesia

The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s cultural institute that promotes the study of German abroad and encourage international cultural exchange. At this place, you can find wide range of selection for German books, literatures, music or even films. And don’t worry, the translated versions is also available. Other than that, they also provide German language courses and exams.

2. Omah Library

OMAH Library is situated at private residential that belongs to Realrich Sjarief. That’s why, for everyone who want to visit them need to make a call first. OMAH Library offers collection of archive and personal books, especially about architecture. OMAH itself stands for On Meeting Architecture Hub. They often hold architecture classes or book discussion so make sure you catch up by following their instagram!

3. Perpustakaan Daerah Provinsi DKI Jakarta

Perpustakaan Daerah Provinsi DKI Jakarta is a kid-friendly library! They have kids area on second floor so you can take your little one to read and play. To enter the place, you just need to show your ID, exchange it with locker key and you take look around to pick your favourite Indonesian or International books. Once you become a member, you can rent the books too. But take a note, it’s for Jakartans only.

4. Perpustakaan Umum Daerah Jakarta Selatan

For those of you who live in South Jakarta, you can just visit Perpustakaan Umum Daerah Jakarta Selatan to find good books or references. Situated at Gandaria, this library is quite spacious and cosy. They offer variant book collections about applied science, social science and literature. They have kids area on the first floor too!

5. Rimba Baca

Rimba Baca is a kids library at Cilandak that offers you many interesting books for children from local to international. It’s suitable for 0-12 years old. You can choose your favourite book from the catalogue and they can save it until you pick up at their place. Come every Saturday on 11:00 AM to join the storytelling session!

6. Daniel S. Lev Law Library

The book heaven for law students! Daniel S. Lev Law Library was established on 2006 and since then, they have provided many books that focuses on law. It’s named after Prof. Daniel S. Lev to thank his contribution in developing law science in Indonesia. They offer more than 12.000 books that you can spot at this library.

7. Freedom Institute

Freedom Institute was closed on 2015 but now they have reopened again! Before that, it’s located at Jl. Proklamasi and now, they have moved to Wisma Bakrie 1, Kuningan. They offer spacious space with a lot of books to choose and modern interior that makes you want to stay longer. It’s very instagramable!
