Better Chocolate Than Never believes that chocolate products should be made and prepared with passion, integrity, and sincerity. It should be beautifully simple without being simplistic, understanding the concept of enough without being complacent, emphasizing quality in all things without being inaccessible. Here, each product is special. With lots of hours researching, tasting and baking of every product, every cakes are freshly baked from scratch, made by hand, using premium chocolate, fresh and natural ingredients of fine quality. The establishment does not use artificial additives or preservatives to extend the shelf life.
Situated on the old location of where Awfully Chocolate used to be, I thought Better Chocolate Then Never was the new incarnation to one of my favorite chocolate indulgences in Jakarta. Apparently what was on offer was far from it. The Chocolate, although still tasty lacked the orgasmic sensation of chocolate that I used to get from the previous establishment. The chocolate cake & black forest cake was more spongy than chocolaty. A chocolate cake like this only means that they use chocolate powder in the recipe, not melted chocolate. The selection of chocolate drinks were sub-par from its original counter-part, but still drinkable. The other hot drinks, like coffee & cappuccino are what you would expect from a small cafe, delicious, but not something to write home about. As for the layout of the place, it still looks pretty much the same as it did when it was still Awfully chocolate, only with whiter walls and an attractive wall menu. Its a nice place to chill after work or just to hang-out with friends, I just wish they offered more variety in its chocolate menu, and try to really build its chocolate repertoire.
