A GREAT UNEXPECTED SHOW by Pianotainment

For over 20 years, Pianotainment® has brought a lot of fun to their music. With their fantastic / hilarious sense of humor, they have travelled around the world to showcase their spectacular performance. Their ultimate repertoire to be performed in Jakarta this October will include, among many others, the magnificent “He’s a Pirate” from Pirates of the Caribbean, and “Root Beer Rag” by Billy Joel. These exciting pieces on this show will provide great enjoyment for all.

Established in 1996, this duet has been performing a wide range of repertoire. Classical music is included in their performance but rearranged in their own unique style. “For Elise”, which is based on Beethoven’s familiar tune “Für Elise”, was rearranged in the style of bossa-jazz. A rhythmical dance music, “Libertango” by Astor Piazzolla, is also among the program.
 –
The duet will also perform “Canon in D” by Baroque composer Johann Pachelbel as an interactive show, where live audience participation is involved. “Asturias” by Isaac Albeniz, a Spanish flamenco style piece, will be played as jazz piano music in the program. “All Keys Boogie” and the famous “Flight of the Bumble Bee” are pieces that require virtuosity from the pianists. Both pieces have been arranged by the duet for four-hand piano performance.
 –
This concert will also feature Pianomaly, a local piano ensemble, which consists of six pianists. Playing new and exciting music is part of their mission. Bringing a six-hand piano ensemble to this concert, they will perform “Three Pieces” by Mike Cornick. A virtuosic four-hand piano ensemble by two other members of this group will also appear with Kachaturian’s Sabre Dance (arr. by Anderson & Roe).
The big-capacity concert hall will be equipped with a screen and feature three pianos on stage. The existence of a tennis ball and seven pianists would indeed be a rare sight. Seven pianists – fourteen-hands? On three pianos? Why not…?
