A Festival About Coffee Jakarta

This weekend, Saturday and Sunday August 23rd and 24th, Percolate Galactic and THE GOODS DEPT are bringing you the first annual A FESTIVAL ABOUT COFFEE. Held at Lotte Shopping Avenue in Jakarta, Indonesia, this two-day celebration marks the Asian premiere of the acclaimed documentary A FILM ABOUT COFFEE, currently being screened to enthralled audiences in cities across the globe.

This festival is more than just a film premiere; this event is a celebration of Indonesian specialty coffee culture, the people who make it a reality – from the farmers to the baristas to the consumers – and the vibrant art-filled creative economy that has been nurtured by the rise of Indonesia’s third wave coffee scene.

Featuring booths, art, entertainment, workshops, seminars, Q&As, and demonstrations from some of the most talked about names in Indonesian coffee, this event is a must for all coffee lovers.

A Film About Coffee is an extended meditation on the specialty coffee industry – from the fields of Africa and Central America to the cafes of the United States and Japan. Referred to in its most recent review by magazine Fast Company as ‘a gift to coffee drinkers everywhere’, we are honored that Jakarta is the first location in Asia to have the opportunity to screen this very movie.

The premiere of A Film About Coffee will be held on Saturday night at LOTTE Shopping Avenue’s Ice Palace Concert Hall. While the premiere is an invite-only event, two additional screenings will be held on Sunday, both of which are open to the public and completely free.
