Tien Chao Restaurant at Gran Melia Jakarta is preparing to celebrate Chinese New Year 2015, welcoming the year of the goat. Lead by Executive Sous Chef Gran Melia Jakarta, Apep Hendrawan, Tien Chao will be serving traditional dishes exclusively for the grand occasion.
The highlight of the Chinese New Year is the Yee Shang dish which contains raw salmon served with shredded vegetables with an assortment of sauces and condiments. Fish is chosen as the main ingredient as it signifies luck for the whole year for the consumers in Chinese tradition. All of the ingredients will be served in a big plate to be mixed together along with other family members. Have a surprising mixture of flavor with this special dish. This dish will be available from 15 February – 19 February 2015.
In order to complement the Chinese New Year festival, Gran Melia Jakarta also prepare Nian Gao which is shaped like a fish. It is a traditional Chinese dessert that will give you gooey sweet goodness after your meal. The sweet sensation of the cake will tempt guests to grab some more. Tien Chao Restaurant is ready to provide the cake from 16 February – 28 February 2015.
Do not miss the special lion dance attraction which will be performed from the hotel lobby to Tien Chao Restaurant. This is a tradition performance believed to be able to ward off negative things and brings prosperity throughout the year.
